The Best of Thanksgiving To-Go in Austin

It’s holiday season and Thanksgiving is right around the corner!  If you’re kitchen challenged or just don’t feel like spending several hours cooking up a storm, there are several tasty ways to enjoy your turkey dinner without creating a mess in the kitchen.  Here’s a few of the tastiest ways to enjoy Thanksgiving to-go in Austin.

 

Colleen’s Kitchen

1911 Aldrich St #100 | Colleen’s Kitchen will be offering two options for all-inclusive Thanksgiving dinners to take home. Guests can choose from the Thanksgiving Farmhouse Dinner, which serves 2 to 4 people, or the Thanksgiving Farmhouse Feast, which serves 4 to 6 people. Pumpkin and pecan pie can be added on at an additional cost. Orders can be made online at their website. The Thanksgiving dinners will be available for pick-up on Tuesday, November 26 and Wednesday, November 27.  Thanksgiving Farmhouse Dinner – serves 2 to 4 (starts at $80).  Thanksgiving Farmhouse Feast – serves 4 to 6 (starts at $145).  Photo by Kirsten Kaiser.

Lady Quackenbush’s Cakery

1900 Simond Ave #300 | Lady Quackenbush’s Cakery is excited to offer fresh, made-from-scratch baked goods for the holiday season, including pies, dinner rolls, tortes and layer cakes. Holiday pie flavors include: Pumpkin, Blueberry Cobbler, Ginger Peach, Pecan, Strawberry Rhubarb, Chocolate Cream, Apple Rosemary, and more. Full menu of options linked below.  Pre-orders can be placed in-person at their shops or by calling the bakery at 512-453-3399, and the last day to place an order is Friday, November 22.. Pre-ordered pies will be ready to pick up on Tuesday, November 26 from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Wednesday, November 27 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Spread & Co.

1601 W. 38th St., Unit 1 | Spread & Co’s Options include their original cheese and charcuterie boards with fall-themed items such as house made spiced apple butter, in addition to Thanksgiving Grab N’ Go bags, which come with everything needed to put together a board at home including cheese, charcuterie, mustard, jam, nuts, pickles, olives and crackers. These Grab N’ Go bags are available in either a small size for $70 that can feed 8-10+ or a large size for $150 that can feed 20-25. They will also be offering two selection of pies (Brown Butter Bourbon Pecan and Buttermilk Chess) available for pre-order for $30 each. Ordering is done through their website HERE.

Walton’s Fancy & Staple

Walton’s continues their tradition of offering delicious Thanksgiving dishes including Thyme-rubbed airline turkey breast with turkey gravy for $50.  Sides include horseradish and Garlic Mashed Yukon Gold Potatoes ($25), Green beans Almandine (serves 10) $20, Grilled Sweet Potatoes with maple glaze, spicy pepitas and crumbled goat cheese (serves 10) $22, traditional Cornbread Stuffing (serves 10) $18, Wild Mushroom & Sage Gravy (32oz) $20 and cranberry sauce (16oz) $15.  Desserts include their famous seasonal pies for $25, Spice Bundt Cake with maple cream cheese icing for $19 and Vanilla Cheesecake with a cherry topping for $19.  Pick up orders November 18-27; closing at 3pm Thanksgiving Eve., closed Thanksgiving Day.  Photo by Megan LaPrelle.

 

Whole Foods Market

All customers can choose from select organic ($3.49/lb) and classic turkeys ($2.49/lb), and Prime members will save even more on turkeys ($2.99/lb for organic and $1.99/lb for classic). Offer runs from Nov. 13 through Nov. 28 – while supplies last.  Starting on Nov. 13 (yesterday), Prime members will receive exclusive deals on organic jewel sweet potatoes ($1.29/lb), organic cranberries ($2.69/12-oz bag), and Bonafide frozen broths and soups (35% off).  All turkeys sold at Whole Foods Market must meet their strict quality standards, including no antibiotics ever, no animal by-products in their feed, and animal welfare audits by third-party certifier programs like Global Animal Partnership.

 

Word of Mouth Bakery & Catering

Word of Mouth Bakery & Catering will offer a full Thanksgiving dinner package, along with a variety of pies for pickup.  Feeding 8-10, the menu comes complete with standard Thanksgiving fare, including turkey, gravy, classic sides, rolls, and reheating instructions, for the perfect stress-free meal.  In addition, pumpkin, pecan, and apple pies are available to order as well, with dinner packages and pies ready for pickup next Wednesday, November 27th. Anthony Carano’s pride in introducing Caesars to New Orleans was palpable. “From local favorite Emeril Lagasse to our long-time partner, Chef Nobu, to the beautiful state-of-the-art Caesars Sportsbook, all-new rooms and gaming floor, and of course, our gorgeous new center bar, Octavia, Caesars New Orleans offers something for everyone. It’s a world-class resort in the heart of the Big Easy, and we can’t wait for our guests to experience it,” he said. The ceremony was a spectacle, kicking off with an iconic Mardi Gras float featuring Caesar and his court, and a dazzling firework show that lit up the New Orleans sky. The second-line band then led us revelers into the resort’s elegant center bar, Octavia, where we indulged in a “Taste of Caesars New Orleans.” Each bite from the six on-property restaurants was a delightful journey, capturing the essence of New Orleans’ rich culinary scene. Throughout the night, elemental entertainers, including the Saints Cheer Krewe, Mardi Gras Indians, Zulu Tramps, and showgirls, created an authentic and unforgettable Big Easy experience. Everywhere I turned, there was something new to marvel at, each performance more mesmerizing than the last.
