Austin Food + Wine Festival Around the Park Activations

The Austin Food + Wine Festival has recently announced their dynamic selection of food, lifestyle, wine and spirits Around the Park activations, chef Book Signing schedule and Festival Merchandise, available to both All-In and Weekender ticketholders, to round out programming for the sixth annual festival, April 28-30, 2017: https://www.austinfoodandwinefestival.com.

Attendees will have the opportunity to experience Entertain! by Toyota featuring live music from Brian Pounds and special appearances from festival chefsHugh Acheson (Empire State South, Five & Ten, The Florence, The National, Spiller Park); Graham Elliot (Graham Elliot Bistro); Amanda Freitag (Chopped) andTim Love (The Lonesome Dove Western Bistro, Love Shack, White Elephant Saloon, Queenie’s Steakhouse and The Woodshed Smokehouse), as well as ceramic artist Keith Kreeger, designer Claire Zinnecker and an editor from Texas Monthly .  Festivalgoers can customize a grilling spatula, create a take-home herb garden, mix up a dry rib rub and take it all home in a silkscreen tote bag.

Join The 4J’sJonathan Waxman (Adele’s, Bajo Sexto Taco, Barbuto, Brezza Cucina, Jams, Waxman’s San Francisco); Jimmy Bradley (The Red Cat); Joey Campanaro (The Clam, The Little Owl) and Jason Giagrande (Four J Foods) – In the Kitchen with H-E-B for modern takes on classic dishes, delicious wines and refreshing 4J coffee.  Visit Rodney Strong Vineyards for a chance to meet winemaker Greg Morthole and San Antonio’s chef Jason Dady (Tre Trattoria, Tre Enoteca, Two Bros BBQ, DUK Truck, B&D Ice House, Shuck Shack) for Sonoma-meets-Texas wine and food pairings.

Festivalgoers can stop by KitchenAid to see the latest kitchen offerings, including the new Cold Brew Coffee Maker, Stand Mixer Attachments and Slide-In Convection Range in Black Stainless.  And don’t miss the opportunity to watch a host of chefs cook at the KitchenAid demonstration kitchens throughout the weekend.

Share the Tablewith Barilla, learn how to expertly toss pasta in a giant “pentolino” pan and sample delicious recipes while learning culinary secrets from the chefs or come visit Austin Hope of Hope Family Wines in a custom-made Tiny Home to taste a selection of his Liberty School Label wine paired with savory bites from chef Jack Allen (Jack Allen’s Kitchen).

Learn the story of this Austin original taste at Tito’s Handmade Vodka Stillhouse Lounge or sample what makes Hendrick’s a most unusual gin at The World’s Most Utterly Inefficient Cocktail Bar.

New Orleans, LA - On October 22, 2024, I recently had an opportunity to attend the grand opening of Caesars New Orleans, marking the completion of a stunning $435 million transformation of the former Harrah’s New Orleans. It was an evening to remember, filled with excitement, luxury, and the vibrant spirit of New Orleans. The festivities began on Canal Street with an exhilarating ceremony led by Caesars Entertainment CEO Tom Reeg, President & COO Anthony Carano, and Caesars New Orleans General Manager Samir Mowad. The atmosphere was electric as they joined Caesar himself and an iconic New Orleans second-line band in a lively procession into the casino. It felt like the entire city had come out to celebrate, with Caesars New Orleans team members and Mayor LaToya Cantrell also joining the event to commemorate this historic occasion. Anthony Carano’s pride in introducing Caesars to New Orleans was palpable. “From local favorite Emeril Lagasse to our long-time partner, Chef Nobu, to the beautiful state-of-the-art Caesars Sportsbook, all-new rooms and gaming floor, and of course, our gorgeous new center bar, Octavia, Caesars New Orleans offers something for everyone. It’s a world-class resort in the heart of the Big Easy, and we can’t wait for our guests to experience it,” he said. The ceremony was a spectacle, kicking off with an iconic Mardi Gras float featuring Caesar and his court, and a dazzling firework show that lit up the New Orleans sky. The second-line band then led us revelers into the resort’s elegant center bar, Octavia, where we indulged in a “Taste of Caesars New Orleans.” Each bite from the six on-property restaurants was a delightful journey, capturing the essence of New Orleans’ rich culinary scene. Throughout the night, elemental entertainers, including the Saints Cheer Krewe, Mardi Gras Indians, Zulu Tramps, and showgirls, created an authentic and unforgettable Big Easy experience. Everywhere I turned, there was something new to marvel at, each performance more mesmerizing than the last.
