The Austin Chronicle’s First Plates issue is on stands and online now, featuring the Top 100 restaurants defining Austin dining.  This highly anticipated issue curated by The Austin Chronicle’s Food Editor Jessi Cape and her team of writers showcases the best of Austin’s food scene. This year’s issue focuses on globally inspired cuisine, highlights 30 of Austin’s hottest food trucks, and honors eight new Virginia B. Wood Hall of Fame restaurants.

The Chronicle’s Jessi Cape on this year’s issue:

“We’re very fortunate to live in a city with such a wide array of international cuisines scattered across many price points and neighborhoods, and we really wanted to celebrate that food diversity with this issue. And of course, the food truck scene is as vibrant as ever, with unexpected menus and experiences. Once again this year, we’ve inducted eight places into the Hall of Fame, and we’re so excited to honor the contributions those restaurants have made to the local community.”

Inductees into the Virginia B. Wood Hall of Fame include Hoover’s Cooking, Via 313, Hopdoddy Burger Bar, Titaya’s Thai Cuisine, Ramen Tatsu-ya, Güero’s Taco Bar, Arlo’s, and Kerbey Lane Cafe.
