Can’d Aid and The Infinite Monkey Theorem are encouraging Austinites to come out for a good cause next week to help build brand new bicycles which will be donated to an entire class of first graders at Govalle Elementary School. All tools will be provided and no previous experience is necessary to lend a hand. Taking place at the east Austin winery on Thursday, October 24 from 6 to 8pm, volunteers will spend an evening assembling the bicycles and then enjoy wine and an appearance by a Can’d Aid ambassador.
For many students, this will be their very first bicycle, providing a valuable opportunity to get outside and since the program started in 2016, Can’d Aid has provided over 3,000 new bikes and helmets to underserved children across the country.
