As the weather gets colder, it’s time to switch up your go-to drinks, and Hornitos® Tequila can help you transition to the crisp flavors of fall with some guy-approved cocktails. Hornitos® Tequila’s mixologist, Christian Sanders, has created the Hornitos® Black Barrel® Cider and The Red Head to share with you.

Hornitos® Black Barrel® Cider

  • 1 ½ parts Hornitos® Black Barrel® Tequila
  • ¾ part apple cider
  • ¾ part cinnamon syrup *
  • 1 part lemon juice
  • 2 dashes Angostura® Bitters
  • 2 parts water

*To make cinnamon syrup: Mix together 1 part sugar, 1 part water and 4 crushed cinnamon sticks. Bring to a boil (approximately 1-2 minutes). Once cooled down, strain into a glass.

Preparation: Combine all ingredients together and serve. Garnish with a cinnamon stick and an apple wedge. Can be served hot or cold.

Black Barrel Cider - White

The Red Head

  •  2 parts Hornitos® Plata Tequila
  •  ¾ part honey
  •  ¼ cup allspice
  •  1 cup simple syrup *
  •  1 part lemon
  •  1 ½ parts ginger beer*

To make simple syrup, mix together 1 part sugar and 1 part water and bring to a boil (approximately 1-2 minutes). Cool before serving.

Preparation: Mix together allspice and simple syrup. Add all ingredients into a mixing glass, excluding ginger beer. Shake well for approximately 3 seconds. Add ginger beer and strain into a double large Collins or pilsner glass. Add crushed ice and a mint sprig for garnish.
