foodstylebytaylorWhile shuffling through the pages of Food Network’s November issue, I found a simple and creative recipe for a savory monkey bread for the adventurous eater. The recipe combines ready to bake bread dough and any spices that you think would pair well with warm delicious bread.

Instructions are as follows: Form balls with the dough. Sprinkle each dough ball with a spice. Combine in baking dish of choice, with a brushing of olive oil between each layer. Bake at 350° for 35-40 minutes. The best part of the process is deciding which spices would make a great addition to the bread. For my batch I used fresh chopped parsley, slivered almonds, shredded cheddar cheese, dill and random spice mix I had in my spice cabinet. I scoffed at the thought of eating bread that was covered in almond slices until I tried it and was delightfully surprised at how the texture and the tastes combined well.
