Austin, TX Mayor Adler recently announced that the City of Austin and Travis County will issue a shelter-in-place order in response to the Coronavirus. The Shelter In Place order will begin on Tuesday, March 24th.

According to the details of the order, area residents and business operators should be aware of the following:
- Austin area grocery stores, pharmacies, and hospitals will remain open to serve the public.
- Local restaurants are able to continue offering curbside, pickup and deliveries to customers.
- Non-essential businesses will close and employees must stay home.
- Residents will be allowed to walk their pets and exercise outside while maintaining social distancing standards of keeping a 6 feet distance between individuals.
