The good people of Round Rock have another reason for excitement as the newest Hopdoddy is now open for business. Last night I visited the newest location to see if Austin’s favorite burger bar continues to live up to it’s name. In true Hopdoddy fashion, the line was long, extending outside of the door all day long, as the hungry congregation of burger lovers lined up for the long awaited arrival of the famous burger joint.
Fortunately, not much of the menu has changed. You’ll find all of the classic staples on the menu, including the Ahi Tuna Burger, stacked with sushi-grade tuna, sprouts, teriyaki, honey wasabi, nori chips, on a bun topped with pickled ginger. You’ll also see the famous Primetime Burger – Texas Akaushi beef, brie, truffle aioli, arugula, caramelized onions, and steak sauce. Add a side of their crispy truffle fries to any of these and you’ll be in Hopdoddy heaven.
The highlight of Hopdoddy is without a doubt, the CODE 7 Burger, only available at the Round Rock location. For two days only—January 22nd and 23rd—Hopdoddy is celebrating the opening of the new location with the CODE 7 burger, cleverly named after the code cops use for a coffee and donut run. It features an Angus Beef patty, Tillamook cheddar, Applewood smoked bacon, and a fried egg, sandwiched between two freshly baked Round Rock glazed donuts. Hopdoddy will only be making 36 of these oh-so-sweet burgers each day—so be sure to get ‘em while they’re hot!
