Dang Kitchen has just introduced their brand new menu featuring several new dishes created by Chef Michael Lerner, formerly of Valentina’s Tex Mex BBQ and Bold Spoon.  The menu now features creative Asian fusion cuisine with a little Southern flare like tacos, Bahn Mi sandwiches, rice bowls, salads, and a few other savory surprises.


Dang Kitchen’s new menu provides a few expanded options for the healthy-conscious eaters, vegetarians and even vegans if that’s your thing.  The Rice Bowl with spicy roasted cauliflower and broccoli, sautéed mushrooms, caramelized onion, teriyaki sauce, and crispy kale chips is pretty addicting even if you’re a meat eater.  If rice isn’t your thing go for the Vegetarian Pulled Pork Tacos with jackfruit, avocado, caramelized onion, BBQ sauce, cilantro, cotija cheese, pickled onion, and chimichurri. It looks so much like pulled pork that I actually forgot it was all veggies for a minute.  The Tuna Poke is easily my favorite dish on the menu and I’ll probably end up picking it up every time I stop in.  Chef Michael Lerner created the Poke with traditional spicy sesame soy Ahi tuna served over white rice.



Dang Kitchen’s signature flavor resides in their menu with items like the Red Curry Bowl with sautéed onion, red bell pepper, mushrooms, zucchini, spicy roast cauliflower, and Thai basil. My favorite is the Bun Sliders served with bacon, fried shrimp, vegan pulled pork or buffalo chicken. I didn’t expect to find tacos in an Asian driven menu, but the Miso Guisada Tacos  with Miso beef guisada made for a pleasant surprise.



Dang’s entire concept reminds me of eating at a food truck in a brick and mortar layout.  Ideally it’s probably best for a lunch spot, but don’t be shy about stopping in for dinner. If they were open after 10 p.m. It’d be one of my late stops after a lively night downtown.
