Hat Creek Provisions, the beloved Austin purveyors of fermented foods, has announced a new name, Barrel Creek Provisions.  As Barrel Creek Provisions, the company will continue producing the same lineup of products, expanding to a nationwide market, under the guidance of new CEO, Nick Benz of Leaven Brands.

As CEO, Benz is working closely with Hat Creek Provisions founders, Tim Klatt and Adam Blumenshein, to increase the reach of the brand while still creating the same high quality products that made them so delicious.  Hat Creek Provisions launched in 2013 when owner Tim Klatt and Adam Blumenshein approached Hat Creek Burger to improve the local burger joint’s pickle.  Since then, Hat Creek Provisions has operated in tandem with Hat Creek Burger, but as both brands looked to expand in new regions outside of Austin, the companies decided to develop separate concepts.

Barrel Creek Provisions products are made just as they have been since the company was founded in 2013 —with a refined, fresh version of Blumenshein’s German-American family recipe, mixed with Klatt’s engineering background and just the right amount of Austin weird. Their etail offerings include the same products that fans of Hat Creek Provisions know and love, including jars of pickled cucumbers and okra, as well as kimchi and sauerkraut. They continue to sell the on-the-go-friendly pouches of fermented carrots and cucumbers, as well as bottles of their probiotic-filled Gut Love.

Barrel Creek Provisions products are currently available at Austin-area markets such as Wheatsville Co-op, People’s Rx and Breed & Co., as well as multiple Whole Foods and Sprouts locations.
