The city’s first gastropub, parkside, is hosting Parkside Chef’s Table | Austin Women in Culinary on September 25 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. to celebrate women’s robust presence in the thriving Austin dining industry.  Spearheaded by Parkside Projects executive pastry chef Juliann Stoddart, the event brings together a dozen of the city’s best-known women chefs and drink experts and features cocktails at 7 p.m.followed by an all-female-chef curated dinner. Proceeds will benefit the scholarship program of the Austin chapter of Les Dames d’Escoffier.

The dinner will feature five courses with passed appetizers, and each participating chef—Jennifer Nguyen (parkside), Juliann Stoddart (Parkside Projects), Jo Chan (Eberly), Lindsay Flagg (South Congress Hotel), Bonnie Wright (Olamaie), Natalie Gazaui (Ramen Tatsu-ya), Abby Love (L’Oven), Sarah Heard (Foreign & Domestic), and Kendall Antonelli (Antonelli’s Cheese)—will create a dish inspired by a strong woman in their lives.

The cocktail hour will feature craft cocktails from Tara Davies (Parkside) and Tacy Rowlands (Midnight Cowboy) using spirits from Still Austin Whiskey Co. During the dinner, sommelier Krista Church (Eberly) has selected wines to showcase female wine producers.

Parkside Chef’s Table | Austin Women in Culinary aims to bring awareness to the many talented women in Austin’s culinary community who have broken barriers and risen to the top of their profession in an industry that has traditionally been dominated by men. These women have been recognized by their peers—women and men—and the public for their contributions and expertise. The event will showcase these superstar female chefs and beverage experts and their innovative and thoughtful creations. “This dinner is about bringing a community of stellar women together to create an evening of excellence unparalleled to anything else we have had here in Austin,” said Stoddart.
