Last week Yard House hosted the arrival of 250 kegs and over 4,000 gallons of beer during it’s infamous Keg Day, a company ritual that takes place just days before Yard House opens at the Domain.  Yard House will open its doors on Saturday, May 14 at 11am.

Yard House, helped to revolutionize the craft beer movement when the restaurant first opened in 1996 along the waterfront in Long Beach, California. The new location will feature 130 tap handles that includes a list of favorite domestic and international beers enhanced with 44 regional craft beer offerings brewed by 29 iconic Texas breweries.

In addition, five handles will be reserved for the restaurant’s Chalkboard Series, a selection of small, limited releases from mostly craft brewers that rotate monthly keeping the selection both innovative and fresh.  These featured beers are listed on a digital chalkboard prominently displayed above the island bar.

Yard House has also added three new regional spirits from behind the bar, including Balcones Baby Blue, Blue Corn Whiskey; Deep Eddy Ruby Red Vodka; and Rebecca Creek Whiskey.
One of Yard House’s signature architectural features is the glass-enclosed keg room holding over 4,000 gallons of beer kept at a consistent temperature that ranges from 34 to 36 degrees Fahrenheit.  Kegs are tagged, dated, assigned a tap handle, and placed on the beer head awaiting doors to open next Saturday at 11am when five miles of individual beer lines encased in stainless steel will carry the chilled liquid to the signature island bar.
