Typically a sold-out event, the much-anticipated 4th Annual Wine & Swine takes place at the beautiful and historic Star Hill Ranch, just twenty-five minutes west of downtown Austin in the Texas Hill Country. For the first time, Star Hill Ranch will host the pig roast at its historically re-created 1900s Texas Hill Country community in Bee Cave. At 1:30 p.m. during the event, a champagne chandelier will be featured in the Bacon & Bubbles Saloon.
Also putting their best pork forward will be featured chefs Alma Alcocer-Thomas of El Alma Cafe; Jeff Balfour of Southerleigh; John Bates of the Noble Sandwich Co.; Angel Begaye of Trace; Mat Clouser of Swift’s Attic and Wu Chow; Michael Fojtasek & Grae Nonas of Olamaie; Brandon Fuller of Café Josie; Josh Jones of Salt & Time Butcher Shop and Salumeria; Ronnie Killen of Killen’s BBQ; Kristine Kittrell of Weather Up; Peter Maffei of Finn & Porter; Robin Mayo of The Carillon; Steve McHugh of Cured; Harold Marmulstein of Salty Sow; Mari Soto of Whole Foods Market®; Tara Royer Steele of Royer’s Pie Haven; Jason Stude of Congress; and Andrew Wiseheart of Contigo Austin.
Sommeliers Scott Ota and Joelle Klist of Arro will be providing a special collection of curated wines to complement the variety of flavors at Wine and Swine in addition to more than three dozen premium wines from some of America’s top winemakers.
And to get the competition squealing, the Texas Pork Producers Association will provide a $1,000 prize to the chef team with the best dish. Additionally, attendees will vote on the “best wine with swine” from among the featured wines.
