In conjunction with releasing a new fall menu, W Austin kicks evenings up a notch with a new happy hour offering: Primetime. Beginning November 11, guests visiting W Austin’s popular Living Room bars will be able to partake in the hotel’s brand new Primetime happy hour which is available seven days a week, from 7-10 PM.  Featuring half-off W Austin libations, the signature cocktails crafted by W Austin’s bar team led by libationist Dustin Courtright, with local palates in mind, as well as a discounted nibbles menu, the new offering is perfect for days when office hours run long, in lieu of a proper dinner or as a place to kick-off a late-night outing.Wednesday through Sunday, Primetime Happy Hour is taken up a notch with tunes provided by a rotation of great local DJs including W Austin resident DJ, Bird Peterson, Go Go Garcia, DJ Ash, and IWannaBeHer.

In addition to Primetime, W Austin’s Living Room Bars are also excited to introduce its recurring pop-up shop featuring different vendors from around Austin. The very first pop-up will take place on Wednesday November 12thand will showcase vendors from the upcoming Cherrywood Art Fair with the second iteration, perfect for holiday shopping, takes place on December 10th.  As the longest running makers and artists fair in East Austin, Cherrywood Art Fair benefits non-profit organization Chula League and features nearly 100 local artisans that have been selected by the event’s jury. W Austin’s Primetime pop-up on the 12th will serve as a preview to some of the selected artists at this year’s fair including Watson’s Apothecary, The Good Hippie and Son of a Sailor with 10% of sales at the  event benefiting Chula League.


A sampling of the new fall libations offered at Primetime include: El Cochito, featuring Roca Patron anejo, St. George spiced pear, agave, lemon, and fee old fashioned bitters ($9); the Blind Pig is a barrel aged libation made with eagle rare w select single barrel bourbon, art in the age rhubarb, and aperol ($8.5); Savannah made with E.H.. Taylor small batch bourbon, house made pecan bitters, karo syrup ($7.5); an ode to Austin, the Red River features Reyka vodka, raspberry, lemon, and mint ($6); the All Fall Down made with Ketel One vodka, Pimms #1, Elizabeth Allspice Dram, orange, lemon, Maine Root gingerbeer ($6.5); the return of the popular Brisket Mary featuring Dickel Rye infused within house smoked brisket, zing zang, and Pearl Snap Pilsner ($6). Additionally Austin Beerworks Pearl Snap Pilsner and Fire Eagle Pale Ale are $3 and a glass of house red/white/bubbles is $6.


Primetime nibbles include W Austin’s bestselling and signature bar bites: Pâté Maison: duck liver mousse, house jam, baguette ($5); Brisket Sliders with chopped BBQ brisket, cheddar cheese, coleslaw and charred cilantro aioli ($9); Lamb Kebobs with baharat spice, raita, mint charmoula ($10); Fish and Chips: goujonettes, tartar sauce and fries ($10); Duck Nachos with pulled duck, cotija, cilantro-lime cream ($10); Pork Belly Steamed Buns with house kimchi, daikon pickles ($10); Hand Cut Fries with sea salt and chopped herbs ($5); Almonds and Olives ($5);Popcorn with black truffle and white cheddar cheese ($5); Street Tacos: pulled pork, on corn tortillas ($9).


The new Primetime Happy Hour is the perfect accompaniment to long-standing Living Room programing includingOff the Wall, taking place the second Tuesday of every month, guests can select from the 8,000+ vinyl records from the walled library in the Records Room for the resident DJ to play; Spin/Spun, perfect for everyone from music-lovers to scenesters, the weekly Tuesday event will allow guests to choose a currently popular song (Spin) or classic “throwback” jam (Spun) from a special music menu to play on the hotel’s unique vintage McIntosh sound system; and Living Room Live, the always free and open to the public live music showcase produced by Transmission Events taking place the last Sunday of every month.
