Wedding Oak Winery has opened a second location in a the most picturesque setting of Fredricksburg at Wildseed Farms.  The new facility features a tasting room, tank and barrel room, and vineyards, adding to the appeal of Texas’ wine tourism on the Wine Road 290.

 

Wedding Oak Winery at Wildseed Farms offers a unique wine experience that is intertwined with in the 200 acres of lush bluebonnets, poppies, Mexican hats and other wildflowers. Wildseed Farms has been a popular destination for tourists since 1983, making it the perfect site for Wedding Oak Winery with its sprawling outdoor marketplace and entertainment space, gardens, gift shop and café.

Wedding Oak’s facility encompasses a 4,570 square-foot area featuring a tasting room, and a covered patio. The patio includes a club members’ lounge with seating adjacent to a fireplace and water feature. Guests can enjoy tastings at the bar or seated tasting service with a selection of four different flights of five wines each. Visitors can choose from 13 wines to purchase by the glass or by the bottle to enjoy at the winery or while strolling the property at Wildseed Farms. Primary winemaking operations will remain in the 10,000 case production facility in San Saba, Texas.

 

The working farm offers an excellent location to plant new vineyards and grape varieties that thrive in Texas. Under the guidance of winemaker and viticulturist Penny Adams, Wedding Oak Winery continues its commitment to making Texas-grown wines of distinction by expanding its vineyard plantings in the Hill Country, with the first acreage of Albariño wine grapes planted at Wildseed Farms in 2015 with additional Tempranillo and Mourvèdre vines to be planted up to 35 acres through 2018.
