The boutique liquor store formerly known as Travis Heights Beverage World has emerged with a new look and a revitalized identity. Welcome Travis Heights Wine & Spirits to Austin’s craft beverage scene! Still in its original home, the family-owned specialty shop is freshly rebranded with a facelift and makeover including a photo-ready mural by local artist Nate Schnell and construction redesigned by Rexford Burns and Simon Lague. The shop has a new website, and a convenient mobile app where customers can shop and place orders for deliveries.

The shop is formerly known as a spin-off to the Whip-In cafe/shop, which was originally opened in 2003. After years of requests from Whip-in regulars for spirit offerings, its former owner, Amrit Topiwala, opened Travis Heights Beverage World next door with his son and current owner Rohit Topiwala.

Along with his knowledgeable staff, Rohit Topiwala has spent the last 16 years building an expertly curated selection of wines and spirits that he delights in introducing to customers through his popular weekly tastings. “I can’t tell you how many times we’ve had people return to thank us for turning them on to something they’d never even heard of,” said Topiwala. “Then they’re hooked!”

Topiwala’s dedication to guiding customers to new experiences and great values has everyone, from mixologists and beverage aficionados to curious beginners, finding much to love amongst THWS’s eclectic offerings.

In addition to being the city’s Champagne destination for Grower and Special Club bottlings, the shop features an extensive wine selection from around the globe (including many natural and biodynamic offerings), a vast array of mezcals, rums from every port, amaros, vermouths, rare liqueurs, one of the city’s largest selections of single malts and more. (Darroze Bas-Armagnac 1992, anyone?) Because of this, THWS has become a gathering place for neighbors, connoisseurs, and industry professionals over the years, with a sizeable group of regulars frequenting the shop for tastings, shopping and community.

Guests are invited to come explore the store and share in the free public grand re-opening celebration on Thursday, May 23.The event, from 5-8 p.m. will feature samples and some special guests in the store! In addition, Topiwala, Eric, and Bart offer free public tastings every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 5-8 p.m. These tastings allow people to discover why Travis Heights Wine & Spirits is a true stand-out in Austin’s rich food and drink culture.
