Marriott International along with JW Marriott executives, celebrities and YouTube stars gathered at the JW Marriott Los Angeles L.A. LIVE Tuesday evening to celebrate the world premiere of TWO BELLMEN, the first original short film produced in partnership with Marriott’s Content Studio and Substance Over Hype.

Directed by Daniel “Malakai” Cabrera in collaboration with renowned dance, parkour, extreme sports, martial arts, and music collective Substance Over Hype (SOH), TWO BELLMEN blends top talent from the hip-hop and B-Boy dance world in a kinetic, action-packed comedy. The film, available free worldwide, follows a competitive relationship between two exceptional bellmen that becomes a “crime fighters” friendship when the pair teams-up to thwart an attempted art heist. The bellmen and the JW Marriott’s legendary guest service emerge as the heroes.

Tuesday’s party took place in and mirrored the concept of the locus in quo of the film’s climax: The Gold Ballroom at the JW Marriott Los Angeles L.A. LIVE with art by Matt Hanover and Mr. Ewok One lining the walls and Ewok’s signature “snail” piece enjoyed pride of place as guests entered the foyer.

Following the screening and a Q&A with Executive Producer and Marriott Content Studio head David Beebe, director Daniel “Malakai” Cabrera and stars William Spencer and Caine Sinclair with Variety’s Marc Graser serving as moderator; guests enjoyed live performances by AMP Live, Scarub, and Fingazzaccompanied by DJ Bentley Montes.

Executive chef Eric Branger prepared a sumptuous post–screening repast for guests that included a California cheese station; lobster spring rolls; bacon wrapped dates; pork belly bao; a charcuterie station; a chef’s creative station consisting of assorted seafood and spices; and a comfort food station consisting of a three cheese mac & cheese and BBQ shrimp and grits. For dessert, spiral towers of tiny purple cupcakes from the film reminded guests of The Purple Panthers, the would-be art thieves’ theme color.
