Austin’s SWAY is set to offer exclusive menu items, during the week of April 13-19, for Thai New Year, the celebration of Songkran.

In honor of the New Year festivities, Sway’s specialty menuitems will include new dishes such as Tempura Thai Eggplant, Salt + Pepper Soft Shell Chili Crab, and Coconut Clams.

The Songkran festival from the Sanskrit word saṃkrānti, or literally “astrological passage,” is celebrated in Thailand as the traditional New Year’s Day. Regular menu items will also be available in addition to the special menu items, and the restaurant will continue to operate under normal hours.

SONGKRAN MENU ITEMS:

 Mango Salad

Raw, pickled & sweet mango, crispy ginger, purple yam, bean sprouts, thai herbs, shiso, coconut-shrimp dressing

Thai Eggplant

Ash roasted eggplant, singha tempura, thai sambal, mint

Ma Po Tofu

Pork loin, shaoxing wine, black vinegar, nahm prik pao, chive blossom, peas, szechuan peppercorn

Soft Shell Chili Crab

Salt + pepper soft shell crab, crispy brussels sprouts, thai herb, chili dressing

Coconut Clams

Little neck clams, coconut, chile thai herbs

Dessert

Coconut pudding cake, peanut, lime pandan ice cream

Don’t miss these celebratory menu items, as they are not set to be permanent! Enjoy while you can!
