The illustrious STK Steakhouse took Austin by storm with its trio of post-premiere parties for SXSW films The Mend, Before I Disappear, and We’ll Never Have Paris. STK prepared multiple hors d ‘oeuvres for the parties, including: goat cheese tart with asparagus and oregano, maple, coffee, bourbon pork belly skewers, crab bruschetta on artichoke and herb focaccia, whipped lardo toast with smoked dates and pistachio, beef tartare with taro chip and charred green onion, and marinated mussels with a romesco parsley pistou.
They also served drinks including Dobel tequila, in the form of the “Black Diamond Margarita”, as well as Blue Moon Beers, a South By Supper Suite Margarita with cucumber and basil, and Murviedro Spanish wines.
Josh Lucas stars in The Mend, along with Lucy Owen, which tells the story of Mat (Lucas) who reunites with his younger brother Alan just before Alan heads out for a long-planned vacation with his girlfriend Farrah. Mat together with his girlfriend Andrea (Owen) and her son Ronnie , commandeer his younger brother’s apartment. Lucas mentioned how he wanted to fill his STK flask with Dobel tequila and take it for the road but thought better of the idea…even in Texas!

Before I Disappear offers stars such as Emmy Rossum, Paul Wesley, Ron Pearlman and Shawn Christensen, who wrote, directed, and starred in the film. The film tells the tale of Richie (Wesley) who gets a call from his estranged sister (Rossum), asking him to look after his eleven-year old niece (Fatima Ptacek), Sophia, for a few hours. Rossum was quoted, “I can’t wait to get out of this dress and into some Texas barbeque!” It’s good to know that even the celebrities understand a true Texas artform!

We’ll Never Have Paris brings Zachary Quinto together with stars Maggie Grace and Melanie Lynskey, where a man screws up on a transcontinental level in a noble effort to win back “the one.” Star, writer, and director Simon Helberg, known for his role on The Big Bang Theory, gave a speech thanking STK for the amazing “meat”, and wondered if the dessert would have meat too.
