Celebrate All Things Beverage in 1920s Style

Edible Austin presents Sipping Social, Benefiting Austin Food For Life

Edible Austin invites Austinites to party like it’s the 1920s at their annual Sipping Social party on Saturday, June 21, 2014, celebrating their Beverage Issue. Dressed in period vintage attire, guests will channel the roaring 20s while enjoying local food and drink tastings, live jazz music inspired by the Prohibition Era, dance lessons and surprises around every corner. The event benefits Austin Food for Life – a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping food and beverage industry professionals gain access to affordable healthcare solutions – for the second year in a row. Sipping Social will be held at Fair Market, located at 1100 E. 5th St. in East Austin.

“We want to throw an unforgettable party for the ages—while bringing our Beverage Issue to life. We’ll have special guests, from Tipsy Texan David Alan to baby goats, courtesy of our motion picture stars at Swede Farm. Vintage videos, performance artists, live music and more will spirit you away to another time and place where much fun was had behind closed doors,” says Edible Austin publisher, Marla Camp.

From 7 – 10 p.m., guests will be able to enjoy drinks from a wine bar, cocktail lounge, beer hall and coffee-and-tea room as well as other sipping sensations. In addition to the array of featured beverages, Edible Austin’s Sipping Social will showcase artisan-made treats, special guests and live music by Cats and The Canary. Guests will also have the opportunity to learn authentic dance moves from the roaring 20s and capture crazy moments in the Magnolia Photo Booth.

Tickets are on sale now at edibleaustin.com/sippingsocial. Early bird tickets are $45 (limited number available). General admission tickets are $55 per guest. Guests must be 21 to attend.
