Rudy’s “Country Store” & Bar-B-Q will open its newest location in Austin on April 19th at 40th and Lamar.  This is the fifth location in Austin for the famous restaurant concept that started in 1989 in Leon Springs, Texas.  Housed in the old 2J’s/EZ’s space, they’re blending their traditional Texas barbecue vibe with the nostalgia of the landmark building that has been around for decades.

Local restaurateurs Ken Schiller and Brian Nolen—the duo behind successful K&N Management, which is the licensed area developer of all the locations in Austin, opened the first Austin location on Research Boulevard in 1994.  For over 20 years they have been serving up Texas barbecue smoked on 100% oak fired pits and homemade breakfast tacos.

With locations in north Austin, Round Rock, south Austin, and Four Points, a location in the heart of the city is the perfect fit for this local brand.  The North Lamar location offers all its delicious traditional Texas smoked meats and sides including its famous moist brisket, lean brisket, turkey breast, pork loin, St. Louis pork ribs, baby back ribs, sausage, chicken, and prime rib.  Its popular side dishes will also be available including cream corn, potato salad and spicy beans to name a few.  Made-to-order and grab-n-go breakfast tacos will be available daily.

Guests can place individual or large group orders ahead of time through www.bbqgo.com and pick them up curbside.  The new location is scheduled to open April 19, 2018.  The first 100 guests to arrive on opening day will receive one $20 gift card (limited to one per person or family).
