PALMETTO BLUFF UNVEILS DETAILS FOR MUSIC TO YOUR MOUTH CULINARY EXTRAVAGANZA &

LAUNCHES PRE-SALE FESTIVAL PACKAGE

 

Bon Appétit Recognizes The Inn at Palmetto Bluff Among the “10 Best Hotels for Food Lovers”

in the May Travel America Issue

BLUFFTON, S.C. –Music to Your Mouth, the esteemed Southern culinary festival hosted byPalmetto Bluff in South Carolina’s Lowcountry, will return for its seventh helping this fall, bringing together more than 75 of the brightest local and regional chefs, brewers, growers, artisans and international winemakers. All festival events will take place from Tuesday, Nov. 19 – Sunday, Nov. 24 on the stunning 20,000-acre resort community and conservation preserve of Palmetto Bluff, home to the award-winning The Inn at Palmetto Bluff, an Auberge Resort.

Recognized for its commitment to culinary excellence, The Inn at Palmetto Bluff was recently named No. 7 in the “10 Best Hotels for Food Lovers” list by Bon Appétit, describing the resort as a “Lowcountry wonderland” and a “lifestyle playground for adults.” In the May print issue,Bon Appétit’s illustrious list celebrates the top hotels in the U.S. that offer outstanding food in incredible surroundings.

Whisky drinker, food enthusiast, and director of the Southern Foodways Alliance (SFA),John T. Edge, will return as the festival’s master of ceremonies for the second year in a row, lending his smart talk to the happenings Culinary Village. Music to Your Mouth’s unique events, held on-property at Palmetto Bluff, will take food and wine enthusiasts on a sensory experience that redefines Southern cuisine to tunes of Blues and Jazz. The festivities will launch on Tuesday evening with an invite-only progressive dinner and sponsor soiree that will transport guests to a secret event location on-property courtesy of title sponsor Audi of America, and will be followed by five days of culinary showdowns, blending and cooking classes, river cruises, tailgating parties and plenty of late-night revelry by the fire pits.

This year’s schedule boasts a selection of new events including a chef showdown that will pit Palmetto Bluff Executive Chef Brandon Carter against a surprise guest chef for culinary supremacy; a Smoke & Barrel Cruise with whiskey producer Julian Van Winkle and country ham king Allan Benton; a James Beard Dinner with five award-winning chefs; two Food of Place cooking classes; and a master wine tasting with RIEDEL and Miner Family Wines. Annual festival favorites will be back again including the Potlikker Block Party in partnership with Edge’s SFA; Kiss the Pig Oyster Roast; What’s Shakin’ Bacon Forest; and the Hair of the Dog 5K run, routed along Palmetto Bluff’s nature trails.

The Music to Your Mouth festival is the annual culmination of Palmetto Bluff’s year-long food and wine program by the same name that highlights seasonal offerings and Southern cultural influences through monthly themed wine and dinner pairings, winemaker weekends and lighthearted conservancy lectures. Music to Your Mouth is conceptualized and overseen by the Palmetto Bluff “Dream Team” comprised of Food and Beverage Director Jeremy Walton, Marketing Manager Courtney Hampson, Executive Chef Brandon, Chef de Cuisine Trey Dutton, Beverage Manager David Mason and Pastry Sous Chef Ashley Cope, who also handlethe four modern-inspired Southern restaurants on property.
