Olive and June and Parkside Projects is thrilled to partner with esteemed Italian winemaker Maculan to host an intimate wine dinner at Olive & June on Wednesday, October 18th at 6:30 p.m. Hosted by Parkside Projects Beverage Director and Advanced Sommelier Paul Ozbirn alongside Maculan Winery proprietor Angela Maculan—who will travel all the way from Italy for this event—the ticketed dinner will boast five courses each expertly paired with Maculan wines.
Chef Brian Moses of Olive & June has curated his menu to complement Maculan wines, which hail from the small village of Breganze in Italy’s Veneto region. Dishes include Hamachi Crudo with Calabrese Chili, Plum, and Sesame; Gnocchi with Kale, Game Hen, Goat Cheese, and Cherries; and Braised Pork Shoulder with Turnip and Golden Beets, to name a few.
A family-run winery located in the foothills of the Italian Alps, Maculan is one of the most stunning and highly acclaimed small wineries in Italy. Not surprisingly, Maculan respects the long-held family traditions of winemaking, from using specially selected vineyards and grape bunches, to aging in small oak barrels, to hanging long strands of grapes from the ceiling to dry in order to produce Torcolato. The fusion of tradition and innovation results in a diverse selection of fresh and fruity whites, well-structured reds and delicious dessert wines.
