20 Austin Restaurants Offering Mother’s Day-at-Home

This year, Austin restaurants are likely to experience a light crowd on Mother’s Day weekend amid the on-going threat of COVID-19.  Although several Austin restaurants have reopened for in-house dining, many of them are still limited to offering takeout and curbside pick up options.

Despite the limited dining options, many of the restaurants have excellent takeout options and gifts to help us show moms how much we all appreciate them on their most celebrated day of the year.

ATX LIVING ROOM PICNIC

NORTH ITALIA

Mother’s Day is just days away—and while most people would have normally made plans by now, this year is a little bit different.  North has just introduced a new lasagna family kit ($65), serving a family of 4-6, this fun and savory option features North Italia’s famous Caesar salad, herb garlic bread, lasagna Bolognese and tiramisu.  North Italia is also offering cocktails to go! With five different kits available, including Milano Mule, Ginger Margarita, Sicilian Margarita, Aperol Spritz and Sangria.

Show Mom a little love with the best boil brunch in Austin! Order one of our Mothers Day packages online and do it quick because these are gonna sell out.  The Mother’s Day Family Brunch (Feeds 4) $72 featuring a shrimp and grits package; and $98 featuring a TLC Boil with Snow Crab, Gulf Shrimp, Andouille Sausage in Smoked Garlic with Lemon Garlic Butter.

TEXAS FRENCH BREAD

Texas French Bread cafe is offering an expanded takeout dinner menu. We’re focusing on full meals for four that we believe can travel well and also make for good leftovers. We’re keeping the lasagna options but we’ll be sending them out hot. To that, we’re adding dinners built around a whole brined/roasted Dewberry Hills chicken, sautéed Verlasso salmon (with organic Charleston Gold brown rice), or short ribs with organic polenta. These dinners include roasted vegetables or a salad of Steelbow Farm greens, a fresh from the oven loaf of pan de campagne, and a full pan of brownies designed to keep you set for chocolate for days.

LORO is offering Rib Dinner for Two ($39.75) Available 4 pm – 8:30 pm Sundays & Mondays ONLY, which includes 1 Rack (serves 2) of Smoked Baby Back Durac Pork Ribs – Glazed with a savory-sweet sauce of pineapple juice, tamarind, chilies and acid, the ribs are grilled-to-order over post oak for additional smoke and char and finished with pickled cauliflower and green onions for contrast, acid and crunch.   In addition to the great Ribs for Two package at LORO Asian Smokehouse & Bar, the restaurant will be offering a Mimosa DIY Cocktail Kit and a limited number of sweet treats from Executive Pastry Chef Ariana Quant.

Intero is offering Mother’s Day brunch for carryout on Sunday, May 10. MANUEL’S

Manuel’s is a favorite local restaurant in Austin, Texas for three generations.  This Sunday, Manuel’s will be open for Mother’s Day with limited seating and patio seating on a reservations-only basis, and carryout.  In accordance with Governor Abbott’s new executive order, dining rooms can operate with 25 percent occupancy, with tables seating a maximum of 6 guests and groups seated at least six feet apart.

COLLEEN’S KITCHEN
