Live Fire!, Austin’s most anticipated celebration of all things beef, takes a spin around the world this spring with a sizzling lineup of chefs showcasing hot fire cooking from all parts of the globe. Tickets go on sale Thursday Feb, 23rd at AustinFoodWineAlliance.org for the event held on Thursday, April 6, 7 – 9:30 p.m. The first 150 tickets sold will be discounted to $75. Thereafter, online tickets are $85.
In its seventh year, the annual meat fest will blaze a new trail with a unique central location – a tree-lined, grassy picnic area tucked on the western edge of Camp Mabry, a 375-acre military installation that was established in 1892 and is the third-oldest active military installation in Texas.
If you’re not familiar with the event, Live Fire! features the best in sizzling proteins and cooking craftsmanship alongside impressive wines, craft beers, premium spirits tastings, and live music and this year’s edition features a red-hot lineup of celebrated chefs and a unique VIP experience as well as a tribute to rosé wine, with “Rosé Row” featuring more than a dozen premium rosés from around the world.
The Live Fire! VIP pass includes early entry – between 6 – 7 p.m. and a special Patrón Tequila cocktail experience. The Live Fire! VIP experience is $125 and only 100 passes will be sold.
Fanning the flames at what is regarded as one of the country’s foremost celebrations of beef will be nationally-recognized chefs and local favorites Aaron Franklin of Franklin Barbecue, Rene Ortiz & Laura Sawicki of Fresa’s Al Carbon and Launderette, and Dallas culinary firebrand and TV’s Top Chef contender John Tesar of Knife. Austin’s winners for Top 10 Best New Chefs by Food & Wine magazine, Kevin Fink of Emmer & Rye (2016) and Michael Fojtasek of Olamaie (2015), will each be featured at Live Fire!
