The highly anticipated bar and restaurant, Last Straw, is now open in east Austin.  The bar and restaurant offers approachable yet expertly executed cocktails created by JR Mocanu, former bar manager of Nickel City and Vox Table, and his team.  The dining menu is inspired by late night eats like pork or veggie dumplings and grilled cheese with kimchi, apple & sambal complement the classic cocktails, and help create what the team is calling “Vacation by the Hour.”

Local Austin artists, Will Bryant and Cody Haltom, serve as Co-Creative Directors/Partners for the project.  Mocanu, Bryant and Haltom worked together to create a colorful and inviting look and feel for the space, with drinks and fare to match.

To celebrate the opening, Last Straw is offering lifetime memberships that include one free cocktail per visit for life, 25% off food, member only events, exclusive members only merchandise and reservation priority for a one-time fee of $1,000. More details on how to sign up can be found on their website. Last straw is open MondaySunday5 p.m. – 2 a.m. and is located at 1914 E. 6th Street, Suite C, Austin, Texas 78702.
