EM Beverage Company has secured a 30,000 sq. ft. building in Pilot Point, TX just 300 yards from the historic downtown city square. 5 minutes from Lake Ray Roberts, this new facility is fully equipped with a band stage, large front patio, first class tasting room, lounge and fully upgraded distillation and filling equipment. With the laws changing almost 3 years ago, Texas Distilleries are allowed to sell small quantities of bottled craft spirits to patrons on site. ‘We got off the ground and running in Carrollton, but never really made the space our own’ says Evan Batt, Co-‐Founder of JEM Beverage Company. ‘Now we had a chance to really show off our identity and can invite our fans to come out and see where we make our beloved brands,’ Batt added. April Schneider at F+P Studios based in Dallas, TX oversaw décor and build out. The showroom and lounge are an industrial rustic feel that compliments the history of the building.

Tours are offered at the distillery on Fridays at 4pm and Saturdays at 1pm, 3pm and 5pm. Tours vary from a $10 tour and tasting of 3 freshly made cocktails with vodka or gin to a $15 whiskey tour and tasting that includes 3 samples of our whiskey and either a white dog sample fresh from the still or a barrel sample. The cocktail tour includes a 15oz branded drinking glass jar and the whiskey tour includes a Red River Whiskey branded whiskey glass. Tours are also half off if patrons arrive on horseback. Pilot Point is known for its sandy soil that is ideal for horses. Live music is featured on Saturdays from 3-‐6pm on the outside stage. Tours give a full history of JEM Beverage Company, a 101 class on distillation, full view of entire facility. Tours are casual and information is made to be very approachable and fun.

Of the added equipment, the most notable addition was the Artisan Still Design 600 – Gallon Pot Still. Truly a work of art, this still has drastically increased capacity on Red River Whiskey. Now made from corn sourced from Pilot Point local farmers and other North Texas Farmers. Award winning Red River has had an overwhelming following and JEM Beverage anticipates further growth now that loyal drinkers can visit and see the birthplace of the spirit. Also increased, was the filling capacity of the bottling line. Now running two lines simultaneously, production has more than doubled with a 6-‐head filler and 12-‐head filler.

Local residents have graciously shared the rich history of this massive concrete building that was constructed in the 1960’s for the Russell Newman Clothing Company. When the property was contracted, residents stopped by to see what was happening to the historic building and lovingly referred to the landmark as “The Old Panty Factory.” Co-‐Owners John Straits and Evan Batt looked at the local residents with visible panic in their faces and asked for further explanation. Without firm dates the legend of the building is that Russell-‐Newman operated a clothing factory through the 70’s and 80’s. Russell-‐Newman is a well-‐known women’s clothing company that exclusively produced briefs, bikini briefs and lingerie at this Pilot Point factory. Residents also shared that just about everyone in town either worked at the factory or had a family member working there. JEM Beverage Company has embraced this history and has made one of the bathrooms a shrine of sorts to commemorate the wonderful historic past. On one walls reads a quote from a local resident, “My mother-‐in-‐law worked here. My father in law worked at the GM seat upholstery factory. He used to say they were both in the seat covering business.” – Monica Burchett

JEM Beverage Company’s largest brand, Western Son Vodka continues to grow with Texas flavors like Blueberry, Grapefruit, Peach and now the newest addition South Texas Prickly Pear Vodka. The first of its kind in Vodka form, JEM is extremely excited to launch this brand during the hot summer. Co-‐Founder John Straits explains the fruit as ‘A rich natural treasure that combines lush fruit that is sweet on the palate with a finish that is tart and mouth watering. Earthy tones of the cactus fruit balance this flavor nicely. The color of the fruit is a deep rich purple with pink hues and once combined with our award winning vodka gives this bottle an amazing purplish-‐pink glow.’ So smooth is the fruit and vodka that this can be drank on the rocks, mixed with any fruit juice or mellowed with club soda.

Western Son Prickly Pear Vodka will be available in late July across the entire state of Texas. We anticipate this to be our biggest launch of any flavor to date and will be promoting in all channels across the state. Also available at the distillery.

JEM Beverage Company’s products are available in TX, LA, OK, MS, GA, TN, AR, NV and MA. The distillery is located at 217 W Division St, Pilot Point, Tx For more information please visit www.westernsonvodka.com , www.redriverwhiskey.com and www.brazosgin.com or email info@jembevco.com.
