Brilliant orange in color, mango margaritas are especially popular during the UT football season!  In lieu of fresh or canned mangoes, you can also substitute a good quality mango sorbet for the mangoes, sugar and crushed ice.

fonda san¾ cup fresh lime juice
5 tablespoons super fine sugar
2 ripe fresh mangoes, peeled, pitted, and chopped
or two cups canned mangoes, well-drained
¾ cup tequila
1 ½ ounce triple sec
crushed ice





Combine the lime juice and sugar in a nonreactive pitcher and stir until the sugar is dissolved. puree the mangoes in a blender. add tequila, triple sec and lime juice mixture, a little of the crushed ice and blend smooth. pour the mixture into the pitcher and serve immediately over crushed ice. makes about 1 quart.
