Freedmen’s and Lucky Peach are teaming up to host “A Springtime Sausage Social” next Wednesday, May 25, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at the West Campus restaurant. The sausage party celebrates the launch of Lucky Peach’s newest book, The Wurst of Lucky Peach, which highlights the history and process of making sausage at Central Texas barbecue joints, including Freedmen’s. Join Pitmaster Evan LeRoy and Lucky Peach editor Chris Ying for an outdoor BBQ, with live polka music, lawn games, as well as plenty of beer and smoked sausages, including King Ranch Chicken Sausage w/ smoked jalapeno salsa, Pepperoni Pizza Sausage w/ smoked garlic ranch, and Freedmen’s House Sausage w/ beer mustard.
