Though the end of summer is fast approaching, do not worry because Austin restaurants Fixe, Rattle Inn and TRACE have whipped up some fun happenings for the next couple of months.

Fixe Hosts SAVED Wine Tasting

On July 26 from 5 to 7p.m. Austin’s Southern House Fixe is hosting a special wine tasting with SAVED wines.

The wine tasting will consist of a sampling of four wines, complimentary snacks and special bottle pricing. Seats are $15 per guest and reservations are recommended.

Rattle Inn Rock Out with your Guac Out! Guacamole Contest

Rattle Inn will be hosting its inaugural Rock Out with you Guac Out Guacamole Contest on July 30.

Enjoy a healthy dose of competitive spirit while watching the sunset from the Rooftop Deck. There will be plenty of guac, raffle prizes, drink specials and live music from the Michael Dillard band.

The entry fee is $10 and includes tortilla chips for the guac, a commemorative pint glass, raffle tickets and more.

TRACE Hell Night

Those who don’t like spicy food, beware. August 13, TRACE is hosting Hell Night, benefiting the Sustainable Food Center, featuring a menu that cranks up the heat in a hellish way.

Tickets are $35 a person and include access to plenty of spicy foods such as Cornbread from Hell, Spicy Beef and passed appetizers like Aranchini Roulette (risotto balls stuffed with cheese and varying spicy peppers).

There will also be a spicy signature cocktail and guests who are brave enough to finish a cup of housemade Carolina Reaper Chili will receive a special gift.

TRACE Hosts 6th Annual Ice Cream Social

TRACE’s sixth annual Ice Cream Social on August 20 is the perfect place to cool down from the August heat.

Once again, attendees are encouraged to “earn their spoon” by donating school supplies in exchange for scoops of Chef Angel Begaye’s sweet treats.

The family friendly event takes place on the outdoor lounge following brunch, four legged friends are welcome as the chefs have special dog-friendly treats in store.
