The Minds Behind Hops & Grain Brewery and Pinthouse Pizza
Debut its Second Collaboration Beer, Peach of a Pale

WHO: Josh Hare of Hops & Grain, along with Joe Mohrfeld of Pinthouse Pizza.



WHAT: Just in time to kick off the sudsy madness that is Austin Craft Beer Week, Josh Hare of Hops & Grain Brewery and Joe Mohrfeld, head brewer of Pinthouse Pizza Craft Brewpub, came together to bring Austinites Peach of a Pale, an IPA brewed with Colorado peaches and dry-hopped with a crafty blend of five different Oregon-grown hops. And there is a secret to it as well, which Hare and Mohrfeld shall never divulge—ever. The first kegs will be tapped at 5PM on Friday, October 25, at Pinthouse Pizza, and then at 8PM at Hi Hat Public House. Beyond Friday’s tappings, 14 kegs will be distributed around town throughout Beer Week.

“We came to this idea after a marathon 16 oz. sampling session in which we decided that beer should be much more than just a beverage, but an adventure that takes you through the space-time continuum—like your favorite bottle of tequila. So we set out to craft a hop-forward ale, pubescent in bitterness, but full grown in hop flavor and aroma. And then we threw in some peaches. Quite literally threw peaches in, which were fresh, vibrant and full of personality—a true Peach of a Pale,” say Hare and Mohrfeld of the inspiration behind the brew.
