Austin Food Magazine congraulates three of Austin’s best chefs who have been honored as James Beard Foundation 2014 semifinalists.
David Bull of Congress and Bryce Gilmore of Barley Swine were named seminfinalists in the Best Chef Southwest category and Philip Speer of Uchi was named in the Best PastryChef category. All three renowned chefs have been previously honored, with Chef Gilmore named as a finalist in 2013.
The finalists for 2014 will be named on March 18, with the winners announced at a dinner at the James Beard House in New York in May. The James Beard semifinalist nominations are a very high honor and we are very proud of our chefs.
