Citywide 86’d is an exciting cooking competition showcasing Austin’s finest chefs battling it out in the kitchen. During each preliminary round the remaining chefs are given the same mystery bag of ingredients. In a time crunch the chefs must use each ingredient to create a culinary masterpiece that will woo the judges over. After each of the three rounds a chef is eliminated and the top chef from each preliminary round moves onto the final competition that is open to the public on June 15th, 2015.
The talented chefs battling it out in the finals are Claire Helbig of Eden East, Joel Garza of St. Philip, Oscar Yip of Olive & June and Kevin Cannon of Barley Swine. The chef judges include Aaron Franklin, Andrew Wiseheart, John Tesar, and Jason Dady. Ticket price includes entrance into the event along with bites and beverages from some of Austin’s favorite restaurants like Barley Swine, Eden East, Parkside Projects, St. Philip, Uchi & Uchiko and selection of craft beer, spirits.

This fun yet heated competition was founded in 2008 and started off with a friendly battle between Uchi, Uchiko and Uchi Houston. In 2013 the sponsorship expanded and now includes The Wine & Food Foundation of Texas, Keeper Collection and the Escoffier School of Culinary Arts. The Sponsors partner with local farms, breweries and distilleries ensuring the competition is sprinkled with local fare.
