BRUNCH AT BARLATA! BEGINSTOMORROW!

Barlata offers a Spanish twist on Saturday and Sunday brunch. Chef Daniel Olivella has reimagined and revitalized the brunch by incorporating traditional Spanish ingredients into breakfast staples. Items include torrijas, Madrid-style French toast; tortilla Espanola (a Spanish-style omelet) with chorizo and grilled peppers; poached eggs with Jamon Iberico and pimenton hollandaise; Grilled Chorizo with huevos fritos (fried eggs), chimichurri and fries; and house cured salmon, among others. For those craving something a bit more straightforward, there is steak and eggs, buttermilk pancakes and bacon. The options are extensive and include many of the tapas and paellas offered on the dinner menu. Though the Spanish food is authentic, Daniel admits that, “brunch is not at all popular in Spain. People wake up too late.
