Some might see Brio as a cookie cutter Italian restaurant, but our experience with them was set apart from other national chain restaurants. The chefs who invited us for brunch sat us outside for an al fresco dining experience on the capacious patio that was as palatably pleasing as it was tummy satisfying.
Tucked inside the lovely Arboretum in North Austin, Brio is presenting a new brunch menu just in time for Mother’s Day inspired by Tuscan favorites. Their menu is good for everyone in the family from meat lover’s to vegetarians, from gluten free to peskys!
What to Order
The appetizers we enjoyed nibbling were the Prosciutto Asparagus Bruschetta. The confusion it gives the tastes buds is amazing, with a pungent kick of creamy fontina, the sweetness of onions caramelized in pinot noir and the melt in your mouth goodness of prosciutto, it was easily one of our favorites. For a pesky friendly ‘tizer try the Spicy Shrimp & Eggplant, not only is it great for budget, the perfectly cooked shrimp is accented well by crispy eggplant and a spicy sauce.
For brunch we saved our appetites for the luscious Berries & Cream French Toast. Smothered in syrup, cinnamon and bacon, then stuffed with velvety mascarpone cheese and finished with fresh berries.
Meat lovers, if you like a steak you barely need a knife for, we recommend the Filetto Di Romano cooked medium rare or try their assortment of omelets cooked to order with a side of seasoned potatoes!
On the Sweet Side
Try out the Dolchinos for dessert! You can sample all five flavors to share or get one to keep all to yourself! They’re so rich & delectable, you might just want to!
The Mascarpone Cheesecake is tasty as well, so light & fluffy, it was like a cheesecake mousse!
Brio is a wonderful place for brunch. They offer daily specials & happy hour & they are taking reservations for Mother’s Day now!
Conveniently, they offer call ahead seating & reservations, so if it’s last minute, no need to bite your nails, they’ve got you covered! Bon Appetito!
