Blaze Pizza is a modern day “pizza joint” featuring custom-build artisanal pizzas using an interactive open-kitchen format, allowing guests to customize one of the menu’s signature pizzas or create their own, by choosing from a wide selection of carefully sourced, high-quality ingredients – all for under $8.  The generously-sized 11” pizzas are sent to a hot open-flame oven where the dedicated pizzasmiths ensure that the thin-crust pies are fast-fire’d and ready to eat in just 180 seconds.

Blaze makes its own dough from scratch using a recipe developed by critically-acclaimed Executive Chef Bradford Kent (the “Pizza Whisperer”), which requires a 24-hour fermentation period to produce his signature light-as-air, crisp crust.

What we think

If you enjoy the Chipolte concept, you’ll probably enjoy Blaze.  It’s decent for the suburban mall crowd and suburbanites of Northwest Austin and Cedar Park. Parents and kids will love this little joint because it allows them to get a little creative when they design their own pizzas for only $8 which is fairly affordable and can be a lot of fun for families.  You can still order the standard pepperoni or cheese pizza,  but you can do that anywhere. Design something funky enough to post on Instagram.

While Blaze is a chain based restaurant, Artisan pizza lovers will most likely opt for some of the local pizza spots in Austin.  But if you live in Northwest Austin and looking for something inexpensive and much better than Papa John’s and Dominoes Pizza (yuck!), then you’ll probably enjoy Blaze.
