The Austin Food and Wine Festival  is almost like a spring bazaar for celebrity and local chefs, food bloggers, journalists and hungry Austinites,  who all swarmed Butler Park to fulfill their appetites.  This year’s festival featured over 50 chefs, including celebrity favorites Andrew Zimmern, Ming Tsai, Graham Elliot, Richard Blais and Rick Bayless.

The fun started Thursday night with the Cupcake Vineyards Truck Tour event at Freddie’s Place.  I’ll readily admit my ignorance and say that I fully expected to see an actual vineyard filled with cupcakes, which tells you how excited I was for the food-portion of the festival.  I mean, who doesn’t love cupcakes?  When I arrived my hunger surprisingly turned to thirst as I noticed the Cupcake VineyardsTour Truck.  My hunger wasn’t completely left in peril as the event included Chefs Stephanie IzardMonica Pope, and Jason Dady serving up delicious dishes perfectly paired with the wine!  Needless to say, my ignorance was pleasantly bliss!
