To celebrate the release of its new chili-focused Spice Market Menu, Mama Fu’s is hosting Chilis for Charity with some of Austin’s best known charities for a pepper eating contest with $25,000 up for grabs.  Five local charity representatives will attempt to eat their way through increasingly spicy chili peppers and collect their share of the prize pool.

The hotter the pepper eaten, the more money the charity’s “champion” will earn for their organization.  The representatives will have to chew and swallow up to nine peppers, which span from a simple jalapeno to the hottest pepper on planet Earth, the Carolina Reaper.

In addition to the $25,000 up for grabs, the Mama Fu’s restaurant in Southpark Meadows will be donating 50 percent of all Spice Market Menu item sales on the day of the event to all participating charities.
