Second Bar + Kitchen Will Expand Its Downtown Space and Add New Locations at The Domain and Austin Bergstrom International Airport in 2016

The Award-winning Restaurant Congress will close its doors on January 1st to make way for the expansion of Second Bar + Kitchen’s downtown location to satisfy the growing demand of the award winning casual dining hot spot. The remodel is expected to be complete by late Spring 2016.

Executive Chef David Bull will lead the expansion of both new SBK locations at Archer Hotel Austin located at The Domain and in the International Terminal at Austin Bergstrom International Airport. He will relocate as executive chef to Archer Hotel, which is set to open Summer 2016. Chef Ethan Holmes, who opened Second Bar + Kitchen as chef de cuisine in 2012, will take the helm from Bull as executive chef at Second Bar + Kitchen Downtown.

“I’m very excited to be a part of the development of Archer Hotel. We have a fantastic location and beautiful hotel to work alongside, complete with large patio space on the ground floor and huge terrace off the mezzanine. It’s bittersweet to say goodbye to Congress; we have had an incredible five years,” says Chef David Bull. “We have celebrated many special occasions, nurtured many culinary careers and supported our local farmers and vendors. We look forward to continuing the tradition of exceptional food and wine experiences through a different voice and in more locations.”   – Chef David Bull
