WINES OF SOUTH AFRICA PRESENTS: “FROM BBQ TO BRAAI”
WoSA to Host Food and Wine Event in Austin, Texas on October 27th, 2013 at Vuka

New York, NY (September 30th, 2013) – Wines of South Africa (WoSA, www.wosa.us) heads southwest to Austin, Texas for their second stop on the WoSA – USA Braai Tour 2013/2014. At the first stop on September 15th at East River State Park in New York, more than 1,000 Brooklynites sampled a selection of South African wines alongside specialty ostrich sliders with spiced frites by noted South African Chef Hugo Uys.

The WoSA – USA Braai Tour 2013/2014 sets out to explore American cuisine, cities and culture while infusing a South African experiential touch with hosts, Chef Hugo Uys and artist, Xander Ferreira, of Cape Town. This food and wine tour will make a stop at Austin’s rustic creative space, Vuka on October 27th to promote a variety of fine quality South African wines, traditional Braai (or BBQ) and specialty side dishes by Chef Uys. Wine enthusiasts and foodies can get to know South African wines while savoring tantalizing South African cuisine on a relaxing Sunday afternoon. In addition to food, wine, and art, the crowd will dance along to the crossover eclectic mixes of Xander.

WoSA – USA Braai Tour 2013: Austin edition will be a ticketed event. Ticketholders will enjoy unlimited braai and wine. All proceeds will benefit the youth programs of local charity, AMALA FOUNDATION. Event hours are from 3 pm – 6pm on Sunday, October 27th. Admission is $20 in advance for an audience of 21 years of age or older. Vuka is located on 411 West Monroe in the city of Austin.
