With all of the South Texas ties so closely linked to both Mexico and Germany, soccer fans will be looking for fun places to watch the World Cup Germany vs. Mexico match on Sunday, June 17th.  New Braunfels-based Krause’s Café + Biergarten, the historic restaurant that honors the city’s German traditions with authentic food and traditional ‘biergarten,’ should be at the top of any list if you’re looking for a great spot to watch the match.

For the World Cup game, the bierhalle will become an arena with a special viewing of the game beginning at 10 am. Whether patrons are cheering for Germany or Mexico, they can find over 70 beers on tap at the biergarten, with national, local craft, regional, and even international options, from German steins to Mexican cerveza. To really get into the spirit, there is plenty of authentic, tasty German fare to be paired with futbol from schnitzel and bratwurst with sauerkraut to Bavarian pretzels. Party-goers can enjoy group plates like The Munich Platter (pork belly, pork shank, chicken schnitzel, assorted sausages, sauerkraut, red cabbage, dunk reduction) $70, serves 6. See below for full list of German and Mexican beer.  Thank you!
