It’s football season again and Austin is by no means skimpy on its vast selection of amazing sports bars to watch your favorite teams battle it out on the gridiron. Finding the perfect spot can get a little tricky when there are so many great sports bars all over town. Whether you’re looking for an old-school dive or new spot with amazing food and enough TVs to keep up with all of the players of your fantasy team, we’ve selected several of our favorite spots in Austin that’s perfect for nearly any football fan.

Cover 3 continues to be one of the best spots in Austin for to experience an upscale football experience. The handcrafted cocktails and a recently updated menu created by Executive Chef Kirk Doyle include mouth-watering burger creations like the slow-roasted carnitas and a classic Prime Rib (available on Friday and Saturday evenings). Cover 3 also accepts reservations for college and NFL games! You can also enjoy the weekend brunch and their amazing U-Mix-It Up Bloody Mary Bar from 11a – 3p.

Lavaca Street Bar
Just like its original sibling on Lavaca Street, the new location on Rock Rose is just as badass but with 2,000 sq ft of extra space. Lavaca St. Bar showcases a variety of games, 40 flat screen TVs, an impressive selection of ice cold drafts and spirits and Chef Ralph Gilmore’s celebrated Turf ‘n Surf menu which is always on point.

Basecamp
The space is a haven for sports fans, loaded with 13 televisions featuring nearly every NFL and college football game as well as private rooms where guests can control what is viewed. Our favorite items on the menu include the 50/50 Burger with beef, Tender Belly Farms bacon and white cheddar on a house made poppy seed Kaiser roll and the Shrimp and Jalapeno Hushpuppies with Cajun remoulade.

backYARD at Waller Creek
NEW Game Day Watch Party: Every Saturday at 5 p.m. for $20. Tailgate, watch & cheer on your favorite college football team at backYARD’s Game Day Watch Party every Saturday evening. Starting at5 p.m., just before the primetime game at 7 p.m., pre-game with live music from local, Austin talent, delicious taco & sliders from backYARD’s signature airstream, and beer bucket specials featuring a bucket of domestic beer $15 and craft for $22. A large outdoor screen will stream the 7 p.m. game, with YARD games for halftime breaks.

Plucker’s Wing Bar
Pluckers has been known for their signature wings for 20 years and is consistently recognized as the best sports bar and chicken wing restaurant in the city. Each location offers guests a fun, laid-back atmosphere where friends, family, and co-workers can enjoy a great meal and watch every football game being broadcasted on NFL Sunday Ticket. Pluckers has been named one of USA Today’s “Top Ten Wing Restaurants” and ESPN’s “Top 5 Sports Bars in North America.”
Punch Bowl Social
Punch Bowl Social presents a fun environment with an upscale menu and several screens for every bit of football action you can handle. Their scratch kitchen serves scratch-made southern-inspired dishes while the bar focuses on delivering top-notch craft beverages. Punch Bowl Social was named one of Nation’s Restaurant News’ “Top Ten Breakout Brands” in 2015.

The Park
The Park’s killer weekly happy hour deals and weekend brunch specials continue to make this a popular spot for watching football all season long.
Sam’s Boat
Sam’s Boat has a huge wide open space with two bars inside and a huge outdoor deck that wraps around the sides of the building. With an all new, updated menu the food has never been better and will mostly likely keep you coming back to stuff your face for every game. Our favorites include the Crab Queso, Seared Ahi tuna puffy tacos and the Tex Mex Haystack Burger. Sam’s boat is a football lover’s haven with a recently upgraded bar and every TV sports package available displayed on wall to wall screens all over the restaurant.
Jack & Gingers
Haymaker

Little Woodrow’s
Little Woodrow’s has been an Austin favorite for years and it continues to set the standard for Austin sports bars. Each location features beer bucket specials as well as NFL Game Day, and all major college networks – including Longhorn Network. The 6th street location has a loyal, raging Seattle Seahawks fan club and the other 4 locations feature the Longhorns and Aggies.

Mister Tramps Sports Pub and Café
Mister Tramps is probably better known for its soccer crowd (the other football), but American football fans can rejoice as they play host to Eagles, Cowboys, Titans, Trojans and Razorbacks fans every week. Throw in the amazing food and beer selection, trivia night, stand-up comedy and live music schedule, it’s one of the most well-rounded classic sports bars in Austin.
